Christmas Visits and Snowy Travel in Lilac Residence
Happenings in Lilac Residence recount Christmas visits across communities. Don and Doreen Mennie, Elva Cochrane, and families traveled to Winnipeg to spend the holiday with Doug and Cheryl Durnin and their girls, then returned via Neepawa to visit Maurice and Janet Cochrane. New Year’s Eve plans included Brandon supper with Garry and Lorraine Cochrane and Elva Cochrane joining Ruby Gray. The group admired Brandon’s lights, and others in the area shared holiday gatherings with relatives in Decker, Isabella, Lilac Residence, Canora, Russell, and Winnipeg. Weather was notably snowy with a calm winter spell after storms. Stan and Ellen Gould celebrated with family in Winnipeg, later visiting Mae and Bill Deller in Brandon before returning for Lilac lounge exercises.
