A year end summary notes favorable farming conditions in 1913 with good crops despite late weather issues. Threshing began Sept 2 with broad activity, trade up despite tight money, and machinery sales. The Hamiota Agricultural Society Fair drew 2000 attendees, the baseball team won the Central Manitoba league, Citizens Sports Day was rained out, the New Hamiota Hospital opened Dec 11, and Christmas festivities were held in churches across the district.
At the December 6 1913 meeting the Hamiota Village Council amended By law No 123 to raise the auctioneer license fee to 25 from 5 and set license year from January 1 to December 31. The Reeve was approved a 100 payment for 1913 services. Finance committee examined and recommended payment of Wohetet peeeweere ft.
Itemized payments listed for E. D. Hudson and others including salaries, indemnities, mileage, exp to conventions, road overseer costs, grants to Hamiota Agricultural Society and Hospital, printing by Hamiota Echo, and ward expenses. Totals include health officer 50.00, Jos. Andrew 225.00, postage 25.10, rent 100.00, taxes 4.60, and multiple entries up to 600.00 grant and 500.00 grant.
Theo Murray moved to adopt the financial report and issue cheques for carried amounts. Stewart-Beamish and Decker-Cochran supported. The council carried the motion and then adjourned.
