Decker announces the birth of Danielle Bree, a daughter born February 15 at the Hamiota District Health Centre. Congratulations to Russ and Faye Schweitzer on the arrival of their granddaughter.
Sympathies extended to Mary Byers and family on the passing of mother in law and grandmother. Congratulations to Shannon and Wayne Schweitzer on Danielle Bree birth. Russ and Faye Schweitzer welcome a new granddaughter. Kim and Ron Miller announce Jeremy Daniel birth for a new brother for Alex and Angela. Barrie and Linda Miller travel to Kenora for Rhonda. Stan celebrated with a 65th birthday party hosted by Lesli Teasdale and Laurie and Raymond Shane.
District notes report the Isabella Hall Bonspiel drawing several rinks as winners in four events with prizes donated. First event honors go to J. Carr Birtle and others while Frank Reid and Ruth Teasdale win merchandise prizes. Community members send thanks for help and attendance. updates include local visits and retirements.
On Saturday February 18 Frank and Shirley McManes of Brandon visited Jean Cook at the Parkissimo Lodge in the Wynona District. They shared supper at the Motel with Jean. Also visiting were Ralph Heiman and his daughter Annette who lives in the Wynona District.
The Hamiota Donor's Choice supports the Canadian Diabetes Association and The Arthritis Society. The schedule runs March 15 to April 15, inviting donations to fund awareness, research, and patient services. Both groups report high disease burden and ongoing funding needs for education, units across Canada, and support programs.
