Manitoba Education Support Program expands funding to 423 million
The Manitoba Legislature discusses the Fifth Session's Education Support Program. It adds 70 million in provincial funds to cover about 80 percent of education costs, replacing the old Foundation Grants System. The plan runs three years, standardizes provincial tax rates, and increases transport and special education funding while aiming to ease local school board levy requirements and lower farm and residential tax bills.
