Memories of a Decker Boyhood in Winter Calm
A reflective account recalls 1930s Decker Village life from a school fire on Guy Fawkes Day to later memories of homegrown winter rituals. The author describes crowds, a dramatic fire scene, feared loss, and the arrival of community resilience through a transformed memorial hall and the Hydro Electrical Displays that shifted childhood play toward practical wonders.
