Provincial spending up by 10.8 million in Manitoba budget
Manitoba Premier Duff Roblin tabled 1959 60 provincial current expenditures showing a 12.5 rise to 95.383 million. Education led the increase with 6.591 million, including school grants and University of Manitoba funding rising to 3.96 million. Health and welfare gained about 2.5 million under the social allowances act. Debt charges more than doubled to 5.348 million. Public works rose to 14.591 million while several departments faced cuts beginning with the executive council.
