The Rural Municipality of Hamiota invites cash tenders for sale of two parcels. Bids due noon Monday February 2. Parcel one is the north west quarter of section 1, township 13, range 23. Parcel two is the south east quarter of section 2, township 13, range 23. Secretary Treasurer accepts lowest or any tender.
Norman Brown McConnell returned from Winnipeg last Friday. Miss Olive Strachan of Pops visited friends, and Miss Edna Pangman of Decker stayed with relatives. A small crowd attended a box social hosted by the Midget hockey team with three prizes drawn by Joyce Richardson. Walter Frederickson won a coffee prize, Mrs. R. L. Arbuthgott received two pounds of coffee, and Darleen Scott won a flash light. After selling boxes and lunch, dancing continued into the early morning.
Christ Church Anglicans announce Rev. B. Guille L.Th priest in charge conducts Septuagesima Sunday worship at 11 30 a.m. Sunday School at 7 p.m. Evening service follows.
Reverend T. D. Barnett presides at Hamiota United Church with services on Sunday February 20 at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. The morning sermon titled Legislative Halls or Wesley's Plan. A war about liquor lotteries and a lot of things. Sunday School at 12.10. A Book Sermon discusses a well known novel. Church notices urge attendance.
Local notices report changes to unemployment relief funding reducing government participation on the first $50 spent monthly. Winnipeg will still receive a large share, while rural communities lose funds. The piece also lists local events including a hockey tournament, dances, rosters, and social happenings in Hamiota and surrounding areas.
