Cod folklore and prairie aid linked in Fred McGuinness notes
Fred McGuinness reflects on Gordon Stueck’s search for archival evidence of Newfoundland’s cod shipments to the Prairies during a Great Low Mood. He recalls stories from John Archer and prairie generosity, urging readers to share recollections or articles with Stueck and noting a radio tale of frozen turkeys aiding orphans as a symbol of prairie spirit.
