Successful Trustees Convention Brings Manitoba Delegates Together
A successful convention of the Miniota Hamidta and Blanshard Trustees Association was held in Hamiota on a Wednesday in January. About forty trustees attended morning and afternoon sessions featuring the president’s address and welcomes by Mayor Beznest and J H M Connell. Resolutions endorsed government action to repeal bilingual clause in the Public Schools Act and urged transferring school lands administration from Dominion to Province. Officers elected include John Murray as Hon. President and Wm Iverach as President with J B Morrison as Secretary-Treasurer and multiple directors. Banquet by Zion Church Ladies’ Aid capped the day, followed by a public meeting with quartets and speeches on education and good roads.
