Mission Band Elects Officers at December Meeting
The Mission Band met at the church with ten members present. Elected for the year: Bernice Kirk president Olive Hazlewood vice president Jimeiy Lewis secretary Lorne Hazelwood treasurer Ray Hazelwood temperance secretary Pilisses Louise and Kathleen Thornton Velma Smith and Marjorie Kirk. Christmas week was spent at home. Mary Kirk The Christmas concert was held December 22 with a good crowd. Miss Jean Bill has recovered enough to return home.

Junior Red Cross Bazaar Successful at Hamiota School
The Hamiota Junior Red Cross held a bazaar on Tuesday December 22 at the school. Proceeds totaled $58.60 from home cooking and $1017 from school papers plus 6.37 in recipes and 1.390 in novelties. Four girls staffed the dinner hour as twelve items remained at 2 pm with home cooking sold out first. The group thanks Mrs Fields and local supporters for their help and wishes a Happy New Year from secretary Arnold Houck.

Santa visits hamota families with gifts and warm thanks
The Echo thanks Mr Santa for visiting every home with little tots on Christmas Eve despite cold and war conditions. A.F. praises the surprise bags of sweets.
