Students practice bus evacuation drill at Hamiota

Ken Hudson of Birdtail River School Division spoke at Hamiota Elementary School about bus emergency procedures. Students participated in the annual drill as buses lined the school yard and each grade practiced evacuation steps.

Safe Grad lawsuit may end graduation celebrations

A Winnipeg court suit filed in late November targets the Rolling River School Division and several parties over a Rivers 1992 Safe Grad party. Samuel Green of Brandon, quadriplegic after a pool dive while intoxicated, sues for damages with 54 named defendants including parents volunteers and national groups. School officials say the district did not sanction Safe Grad events.
