W M S And W A Met For Christmas Service In McConnell
The W M S and W A met at Mrs Swanson's home on Thursday December 11 with sixteen ladies attending. Christmas candle service led by Mrs Pangman followed by the annual W A meeting showing a profitable year. Officers elected for 1951 include President Mrs Emerson Vice president Mrs J Allen Secretary Mrs R Knight Treasurer Mrs J Killoh Buying committee Mrs N Pollock and Mrs H Asselstine Manse committee Mrs J C Richardson Mrs 5 Swanson and Mrs Jean McConnell Courtesy committee Mrs W Fowlie Mrs Syrnyk and Mrs Killoh Reporter Mrs Swanson Tea was served by Mrs Richardson and Mrs Asselstine The next meeting is at Mrs H Nicholons home on January 3 1951 Mrs J Wright spent a few days this week in Winnipeg.

Christmas events and local notices in Lavinia area
A candle light service was held at Lavinia United Church on December 19 with musical numbers by Miss Hyndman Rev Maxwell and the choir directed by Mrs W McConnell. The Lavinia hockey team won an overtime game against Isabella at Shoal Lake. The W A annual meeting elected officers for 1951 and approved donations to Mission Band M and M fund and W M S.

Decker Xmas Tree Entertainer and Local Celebrations
Decker community notes a Xmas tree entertainment set for Thursday December 21 at Decker Memorial Hall at 8 p.m. Joyce Strachan was guest of T Eaton Co Winnipeg for being an outstanding student in Sidyr sewing at Decker. Mrs Cochrane marked her 79th birthday with gifts and flowers. Mr and Mrs Rivers celebrated 25th wedding anniversary with a short program and gift of silverware. Clark Davidson presented a decorated three story wedding cake.
