Trout Hatchery Work Boosts Rockies Angling
The Canadian Pacific Rockies hatchery program by the Department of Marine and Fisheries artificially spawns cutthroat trout eggs at Banff and Spray Lakes. Thousands of eggs from Loch Leven and Lake Superior stocks are hatched each year, with millions more planned for 1926. The program aims to sustain sport fishing around Lake Minnewanka and Spray Lakes, drawing anglers to the CPR Bank Springs Hotel area.
