Passing of Three Old Pioneers
Obituary notices from Hamiota Manitoba report the deaths of three longtime residents: Mary Howie Anderson of Hamieda aged about 74 after a long illness, Sarah Isabella Hunter Tremaine aged about 72 near Lavinia, and Marinda Kirk Hazlewood aged about 76 near Hamiota. Each notice details births, migrations to Manitoba, family survivors, and funeral arrangements with interments in local cemeteries. The week also notes community events including church activities, a Christmas tree concert, a county hall social, a hockey game, and a staged play Sonny Jane with support from local organizations and volunteers.
