Shopping, trust, and a changing marketplace across towns
A column blending editorial thoughts from Carman Valley Leader and High River Times on the shopper’s world. It notes rising fuel costs and inflation shaping cautious buying, stresses personalized service, and reflects on trust in merchants and the costs of shopping in towns like Kindersley and Yorkton. It mentions a Manitoba producer cheated by a bankrupt buyer, dairy and soil product scams, and a Saturday night revival in Davidson. The piece warns against phone scams and urges verification of offers, while noting a RCMP crack‑down on shoplifting with losses projected at about 1 million in Yorkton.
