First Train Reaches Hamiota 50 Years Ago

Fifty years since the first train arrived in Hamiota from Brandon on a Great North-West Central Railway line later leased to the CPR. Lumber and hardware for J. H. McConnell and Jas. White were the first cargo, with only three houses then. The cold day drew many local children to witness the historic stop. George Anderson travelled on the train and began building the next day on open prairie vast views.
