Jack Boyd Attends National 4 H Volunteer Leaders Conference
Jack Boyd of Hamiota was among 55 delegates at the third National 4 H Volunteer Leaders Conference held November 11 to 14 at the Park Plaza Hotel in Toronto. Delegates from five provinces and five from the United States attended to learn about 4 H activities and leadership skills. The theme was Leader Effectiveness with sessions by Marlene Wilson, Joan Pym, Ross Daily, and Dr. Harvey Silver, plus a trip to the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair and a banquet. Sponsored by the Canadian H Council with support from Imperial Oil Limited, Canadian Seed Growers' Association, and the Prince Edward Island Potato Marketing Board.

Parkissimo Lodge weekend guests include Mrs Katie Sparks and her daughter and son in law Morley Wettig and family from Yellowknife NWT and Fred Sparks and family from Esterhazy Saskatchewan. A large white jack rabbit was seen on Main Street in Miniota. Lynne Porteous of Winnipeg and Charlie Watts of Esterhazy visited W Elliot last week. Margaret Foster hosted Hugh McKean and Ruth McKean for dinner before their trip to Red Deer Alberta for the winter.
