Manitoba tightens liquor laws hit for minors and sellers
The Manitoba government enacts stricter Liquor Control Act rules now in effect. First offenders face at least 500 dollar fines for selling liquor to someone under 18, and minors caught possessing or consuming alcohol face a minimum 500 dollar penalty. Lending or borrowing a driver’s license to buy liquor triggers automatic suspensions under the Highway Traffic Act. Changes took effect earlier this month.
