Hydro Inquiry Sets Public Hearing in Manitoba
The Manitoba Hydro commission led by Hon. George Tritschler will hold public hearings starting Monday November 13 with an expected six to eight week process. Charles Birt said extensive pre hearing work is complete and R L Walker and Associates will handle technical analyses of Hydro operations. The inquiry covers Nelson and Churchill River developments and rate setting, with briefs already submitted by Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce Allied Hydro Council and Prof A M Lansdown and more expected.

New Manitoba Licence Suspension Appeal Board Formed
The Manitoba Highways and Public Works Minister announced nine member appointments led by Ronald Johnson as chairman and Grant Holmes as vice chair. Members include Gerald Brown Jack Kinley Frank McClymont Barton Dowler Susan Hoplock Rene LaCoste and Tom Hannesson. The board handles statutory and registrar suspensions and also hears appeals on motor dealer and salesman permits driving instructor permits and cancelled permits. Hearings are planned from November 13 to December 15 and may resume in January with potential out of Winnipeg sessions.
