Hamiota completes south side paving project
Hamiota residents on the town’s south side celebrate the completion of paving this summer ending the local paving program. The plan started in the mid 1980s funded by a property tax levy and debentures with cost sharing from federal and municipal partners. Council chose Borland Construction for a $15 000 lower bid to avoid delays while awaiting provincial Infrastructure Program details. Mayor Al Robertson noted future funding will target water and sewer line work once programs are finalized.
