Sam Sheardown arrived Friday evening for his annual harvest visit. Betty Galbut of Brandon is visiting at the Caldwell home this week. Jackie Caldwell is spending holidays with Lorne Asseltine at Moose Jaw. Tenders for painting the Council Chamber close at noon on Saturday August 2. Dave Rutherford is seriously ill in Deer Lodge Hospital Winnipeg. His wife was sent for on Monday Miss Mary McGuire of Winnipeg. Spent the week end at Mr and Mrs A L Sutherland, Miss Madeline Franzmann returned to her home at Fannystelle after ten days with Miss Eileen Whyte. Mr and Mrs C G Webb and family returned home Monday after holidays in Chicago and eastern points. Mr and Mrs Wilfrid Heffernan and daughter Helen of Regina arrived at the Sutherland home on Friday. Mr Hefferson returned on Tuesday.

Wheat threshing wraps up as harvest stays strong

Farmers report thriving wheat threshing with 20 to 25 bushels per acre, grading No 1 and 2 mostly. Hamiota notes shifts toward truck delivery to elevators and continued activity around town with notables visiting and traveling.

Pope Miss Mary Clarke Plans Church Anniversary

Miss Mary Clarke of Brandon spent the weekend with relatives. Regular church and Sunday services will resume next Sunday at the usual hours. Scotia expects to hold the church anniversary on or about September 26. Watch for further particulars. A note on horses reports Equine Encephalomyelitis disease. serum has been applied in most cases, with only a few deaths so far.

The all inclusive Canadian National Railway System reports weekly revenue for the week ending August 7 1937 at 352026 dollars, up from 32665 dollars in the same period of 1936 an increase of 255440 dollars.
