The Ellenville Patriotic Society held a well attended meeting on August 17 with 19 members. They discussed war support including sending boxes to trenches and planned a fruit and vegetable shower for the Convalescent Home. The August free will offering totaled $3.00 and the meeting collection was $2.75. New officers and committees will be elected at the August 30 service.
Receipts acknowledge Red Cross donations totaling 107.75 for half year including 51.00 to Belgian Relief and 23.25 from Oakner garden party. Contributions from Foresters 10.00 and Mr. Sheridan 5.00, and 14.25 from J. McCallum. Further thanks from Home for provisions and a 18.50 monthly collection. Extract from England praises Canadians and soldiers with hospitality and endurance.

Semi private ward visits occur only on Wednesdays Fridays and Sundays from 5 to 5 p.m. Overnight stays require special permission. Parcels require permission. A board charge applies.
