Hamiota Vet Clinic Opens Serving Manitoba Livestock Farmers
The Hamiota Veterinary Services Clinic opened in April as one of 24 provincial clinics. Dr. Andrew Hodge and Dr. Allan Preston say the concept saves travel time and improves surgical outcomes with on site facilities. The clinic handles on farm calls and large scale herd work while planning large animal surgery rooms. Funding came from federal provincial governments and local municipalities with land donated by Hamiota town.

Banquet Marks 50th Anniversary of McConnell Elevator
A July banquet at the McConnell Community Centre celebrated the 50th anniversary of the McConnell Pool Elevator. District officials and pioneer members received scrolls while James Deveson and Charlie Winstone spoke on local history. Eleven pioneer members, including Adam Cartney and Robin Hodgson, were honored.

Couple Feted on 45th Wedding Anniversary at Cardale
A July 20 gathering at Mr. and Mrs. John Paddock’s Cardale home honored Mr. and Mrs. George Biccum of Rivers on their 45th anniversary. Family members from Calgary to Thompson attended, a colored TV was gifted, and a buffet dinner followed with many relatives and out of town guests present.
