Dan Levenick Retires From Land Titles Office
Dan Levenick retires from the Land Titles Office after a July 28 retirement dinner in Neepawa attended by 50 or more. Dignitaries included D Lamont and E O’Brien of Winnipeg, district registrars from Morden Portage Dauphin Brandon, Mayor Harry Smith, Peter Cottingham, and Doug Hockin. Levenick, a WWII veteran who practiced law in Brandon and Hamiota, settled in Neepawa in 1960 and remains active in town planning and the Lions Club.

Hamiota Club Elects Leaders At August Gathering
Sixty eight members met at the Hamiota Fair Grounds on Sunday August 8. Dot Lepine was elected president and Beryl Asselstine secretary treasurer. A new member was welcomed, 82 year old William Butler from Oakville Manitoba. The group enjoyed supper, games for children, and a scrapbook and family tree write up of the Butler clan by Ken Lepine.

Shower Held for Sharon Whyte in Kenton United Church
A large bridal shower for Sharon Whyte took place in the lower hall of Kenton United Church on Wednesday August 4. Noreen McLean and Mrs A Brown chaired the event with close family and friends including Loree Darice Dale Brown and Carla Meyers. About 100 guests attended as Sharon opened gifts and announced plans for a wedding on the 14th. She invited friends to visit her and Earl in Bottineau North Dakota after the ceremony. A mysterious pitchfork gift prompted laughter. Lunch followed.

Couple Honoured Before July 31 Wedding in Isabella
A large group gathered at Isabella Community Centre on Friday July 16 to honor Gail Clark and Wayne Smith before their marriage on July 31 at Isabella United Church. Caskets of corages were given to Gail her mother Mrs Ken Clark and grandmothers Mrs Al Clark and Mrs G Munshaw. An address was read by Jan Malanowich and gifts were handed by Gail’s former schoolmates. Gail and Wayne expressed thanks for gifts and good wishes.
