J H McConnell, Liberal member for Hamiots, held his seat with a 467 vote majority, up from 368 in 1914, as Fraser’s Conservative bid failed amid Liberal organization and provincial demand for a businesslike administration. The piece urges annual reviews and accountability from the new government.
The late government era saw delinquencies and polling results show Cardale reversed the prior trend with Fraser leading by 22. In other districts McConnell won, and a crowd gathered at the McConnell ball to hear results as Wm. Ferguson and others spoke in the evening. McConnell's majority stood at 467.
