The Hamiota Hospital Ladies' Aid express heartfelt thanks to all who worked at the dining hall and for preliminary preparations during the Hamiota Fair and Sports. Gratitude extends to friends who contributed food supplies and supported near and far. The group hopes everyone who contributed will accept this as a sincere thank you and return next year.
More than seventy friends gathered at the Geo Park home on Friday August 2 to welcome Mr and Mrs William Sheridan. Norman Dale read the address as George Anderson and Howard McLellan presented a basket of gifts. Bill Sheridan thanked the crowd and a lunch was served. A special welcome was extended to Mrs Sheridan who arrived as a war bride with her son in April 1945.
The Oakner Beef Calf Club held at Oakner school grounds on Saturday July 20 saw a good crowd. Judge George Widdicombe of Foxwarren led placings with multiple winners including Garth Strachan and Donald Park. At the Hamiota rally Garth Strachan's calf was Grand Champion and he took third in showmanship.
Local fair results list numerous prize recipients across sheep poultry fodder fruit and garden produce. Notable names include W Baxter Dailey & Son Gurr Hedley Pollock and J Ramsay with multiple wins in sheep, poultry, and vegetables.
Mrs J D Quinton held a miscellaneous shower on July 23 for Ruth Bailey whose wedding occurred July 27. Mr and Mrs R Gregory returned from a motor trip to Yellowstone Park. Church service resumed last Sunday. Friends of Mr and Mrs Lloyd Stewart visited July 25 and presented a monetary gift in a bouquet in祝 the couple with community good wishes.
Bowling club games begin at 7 p m with first named rink on green No 1 and second named rink on green No 2. Schedule lists matches from August 7 to 830th featuring Hudson Allshire Duncan Jamieson Baldwin Venables.
Miss Betty Amy joins sewing class winners for a week of camping at Birtle. Mr and Mrs John Hazelwood drove to Brandon for a short visit last week. A baby girl Linda May Kidd born July 25 to Cecil and Mrs Kidd. Louise Kirk and Olive Smith returned from Summer school. Velma Smith takes two weeks holiday at home. Crandall and Hamfiota Orangemen and families gathered at Hamiota fair grounds for a social afternoon on Monday August 5 with an old ball game and dancing at Crandall Hall. The Pollock family held a reunion at Kemnay on Sunday.

McDougall holidaying at Clear Lake. Mr. W. Moffatt recovering from chimney-removal bruises at Sandy Lake. Charlie Nichol returned from Winnipeg.
