Obituary of Robert Beattie longtime Hamiota resident
Robert George Beattie 73 died at his Winnipeg home on July 15 1953 after a life in Hamiota Manitoba where he operated a blacksmith shop and served on the town council He was born in Lakelets Ontario and was the last of the Beattie line He leaves his widow May funeral services were at Hamiota United Church and burial in Hamiota Cemetery pallbearers listed with hometown names reflecting the community obituary notes his sportsmanship in curling and long service to church and town.
