Encephalitis Surveillance Program to Resume in 1977
Manitoba will relaunch encephalitis surveillance in spring and summer 1977 with cooperation from Winnipeg, the University of Manitoba, and provincial agencies. The plan includes sentinel chicken and rabbit flocks across locations, mosquito trapping and testing, and laboratory analyses at Cadham Public Health Laboratory. Seventeen students are hired through the Manitoba Youth Secretariat to assist.

Hamiota Band Committee Sets Festival Plans and Meeting
The Hamiota Band Committee met with 12 members present at Hamiota Collegiate. Mrs. Val Doupe chaired and minutes were adopted. Plans covered attending three festivals in Neepawa on April 28 and in Birtle and Strathclair in early May, with uniforms required. A band concert was arranged and a tentative objective plan was proposed. The next meeting moved to Friday May 13 due to the spring festival.

Art Club Meeting Sets July Exhibit and May Show
The Art Club met April 6 in the Community Room with 17 members. Officers reported a 920.86 bank balance. An exhibition of Art by Souris and Hamiota clubs is planned for July at Brandon Allied Art Centre and the annual show for May at the Community Centre with tickets on three donated articles. Workshops were held January through March with guests from Virden Brandon and Crandall. Selection for pictures is set for Wednesday April 27.
