Manitoba crocus and poetry in a rustic hometown column
Current Comments opens with notes on the Manitoba flower known as the crocus dubbed anemone patens by Jack Houck and a homegrown crocus delivered to the mother-in-law. It covers local recollections, a coin appraisal of a half sovereign, Oak River beautification, postal jokes, UFO notes, a new mail schedule for 1966 and regional updates from Rocanville Recorder to Canadian passport rules, all in a light community tone.
