Easter Seal Fund Opens Sixteenth Year to Aid Manitoba Children
The Easter Seal Fund launches a month-long drive on April 1 administered by The Society for Crippled Children and Adults of Manitoba. Timmy, an eight-year-old boy from Winnipeg, is named Easter Seal Timmy, symbol of disabled children in the province. The fund supports clinics, preschool deaf programs, Lakeside Fresh Air Camp, physiotherapy, testing, social services, and prosthetics, with costs ranging from braces to artificial limbs. Contributions support more than 1,100 children and aim to reach $110,000 to sustain and expand services.
