Lovell proposes Manitou as test village for energy efficient lights
Manitoba J R Lovell and Co’s Jack Lovell told the Manitoba Merchants Association that Manitou could host a test village using their lighting tech, which is 30 per cent more energy efficient than current systems. He said the plan would boost Manitoba’s exposure to potential customers worldwide.

Salvation at home urged to save fading prairie towns
Fred McGuinness told about 70 at a Waskada chamber banquet that salvation begins at home as rural communities face hardship and population decline. He warned that many youths leave after grade 12, costing communities about 50000 per graduate, and encouraged valuing youth to bring them back.
