At Hamiota Hospital on March 31 1958 a girl was born to Mr and Mrs Claire Hunter Kenton and a boy to Mrs Milford Foxton Decker. Also announced is the World Premiere of New Case-omatic Drive tractors with tug of war contests at Geo Deller showing Tuesday April 2 from 2 to 4 PM and 8 30 PM.
J N Mandziuk wins a March 31 election in Marquette with over 9000 votes, tallying 14 499 for Mandziuk, 5 167 for Kinney, 1 569 for Lot as CF, and 981 for Nevin. Local notices state Star s closed Good Friday and park coffee bar hours, with several community events and a death at Hamiota Hospital.

About 100 guests attended a quince shower for Muriel Thompson bride elect of April Std at Mrs. D A Beamish home. The room featured pink and white flowers with a bird centerpiece. an address by Miss Edith Ann Russell. Corsages given to Mrs. T Thompson and Mrs. Wm. Murray and other relatives. Gifts were from Heather and Sharon Murray Barbara and Hiela Oats. Muriel extended thanks and invited Winnipeg visitors to call. A light lunch followed.
Western Manitoba families will view the classic Cecil B. DeMille film King of Kings on CKX TV Brandon airing Good Friday April 4 from 8 30 to 10 30 PM. The production took five years and features scenes of Jesus before Pilate and the Crucifixion amid a cast of thousands.
The Hamiota Hospital Aid held its meeting on Friday March 28 with Mrs. A E Andrew presiding. Districts reported allocations and donations including tea towels magazines and scrap books. Planning for April mending and a May 10 annual tea was announced along with a regional meeting on April 9 at 2 30 p.m. Miss Dunn is seeking crutches and the balance sits at 1560.94.
The event runs April 31 to May 2 in Hamiota with adjudicators Mrs Gladys Whitehead from Kenora and Mrs Peggy Sampson from Winnipeg. Community support is urged to ensure the festival's success and value to the area.
