Rifle Shooting Results and Club Plans from Guyra
The Guyra Rifle Club reported monthly prize results from the 300 yards mound with shooters including H Rumming, R Jackson, S Mould, A Tibbe, S Jackson, B Yeomans and S Muldoon. Quarterly life winners were S Mould, B Yeomans, and S Jackson. Delegates were named to discuss a trophy with Guyra and Ben Lomond. A work bee is planned September 20 to repair targets. The next shoot is September 14 at 9 am.

Women’s Hockey Weekend Matches Highlight Busy Schedule
Last Sunday Guyra traveled to Armidale for four games. Guyra beat Old Students after extra time, defeated Ramblers 2 0 with goals from Noleen Mather and Margaret Hiscox, and drew 1 1 with Hospital where Elaine Campbell scored. A return trip to Inverell is planned, or two games may be held at Carsne. Street stall success and prizewinners were announced with Mrs Hodder, Mrs Teege, and Mr Robshaw among winners.

In the aerisi Cup M Pearson and J Saunders defeated E Pryor and W Culla 21 18. Social games results list multiple pairs with varied scores.

Myxomatosis spread in Guyra district concerns board
Myxomatosis is spreading in the Guyra district Armidale P P Board chairman L P Dutton said at a board meeting. The District Stock Inspector D Walker called the Guyra rubbish depot mosquitoes ridden. Dutton noted myxomatosis is one tool to control rabbits. Rabbit Inspector D Nott reported inspections across Uralla Armidale W alerha and Yarrowitch areas covering about 60000 acres with improvement from ripping method though follow up was uneven. In Armidale area Kellys Plains harbour destruction proceeds with one property classed unsatisfactory.

Returned Men at Yarrowitch Landholders Combat Rabbits
The observer notes most landholders in YarRowitch are not meeting required efforts to suppress rabbits except a few. Two Walcha properties were heavily infested. control measures are now underway and some holdings show improvement. Myxomatosis reports appear unconfirmed beyond granite country. Inoculations occurred at Yarrowitch in July and Uralla in August, about 3800 rabbits treated. breeding continues with young rabbits observed.
