Roundabout sequel to burglary heard in Bingara court
A youth named Fred eri Charles Wiggins faced nine charges in Bingara Police Court linked to a burglary ring with a Guyra break in four months earlier. He was remanded to Guyra and to appear in Inverell Quarter Sessions for earlier offences and additional counts including theft of rifles, petrol, tools, and a lamp, plus a malicious damage charge.

Post Office Threatened at Bald Nob
Local residents including women and children fought for hours to halt a grass fire threatening the Bald Nob post office on Thursday. A spark from burning sunlit dry grass, driven by wind, spread to near a house and the post office before volunteers contained it. The blaze damaged several acres of grassland on properties owned by Mr Ton Keelan and Mr Donnelly before being brought under control at dusk.
