Present were A W Everett president H W Youman Robert Simpeon Ascileon T A Srareti G J Mitchell FP H K Curtis B J Clark J C White J J Kelly R Z Moore F Korey W F Crogan Pat Cregan T Ko Sole and A A Brown secretary. Minutes of September were read and confirmed. Reappointment from E Jobo Uralla offering £5 per week for two weeks for pavilion use was referred to grounds committee. Three payments submitted, a debit balance of £254 4/ appears. Balance sheet shows a profit of 24 It. Secretary asked to obtain £500 public liability insurance before the show. Advertisement for turf rights for 12 months to Guyra Argon approved. Date for working bee to be set next meeting. Secretary to write to Mulligee and Baker in hospital.
At a well attended meeting of the Graziers Association Lieut. Col. H F White presiding Mr Wilson from the Grazers Cooperative Shearing Co spoke on the Kin Company during the early part of the pressed shearing season noting resistance to graziers in the face of price declines caused by the Arbitration Board He urged consideration for future contracts The discussion then covered wool marketing with Mr W L Green proposing a flat rate per pound to curb export sales and absorb surplus wool The President announced plans to have marketing considered at the next Directors Annual Conference and a vote of thanks was passed for Mr Wilson’s informative address on shearing.
Polling on Saturday passed off quietly with arrangements by Tf J O Donnell DRU and W Fanikoer Poll Clark Absentee votes led by A Williamson assisted by W S Parnall. Local event results noted as generally anticipated with votes recorded at the booth.
