Glen Innes Chamber Seeks Protest Over Train Cuts

At a monthly meeting the Glen Innes Chamber of Commerce decided to request Col M Bruxner convey to authorities their protest against further curtailment of the Glen Innes train service. A report noted it was proposed to eliminate the Glen Innes mail and run the Sydney Brisbane mail daily. Speakers warned the Glen Innes mail train is usually full and cutting it would force travellers from Inverell and other northwest towns to rely on the Brisbane Lynhey route with reduced chances of obtaining seats.
