Referendum Bill for National Marketing Powers in Parliament
In October 14 debates, Attorney General Menzies moves second reading of a constitutional amendment to add section 92A. It would free Commonwealth marketing laws from section 92 limits, enabling national schemes for buying and selling of primary products and avoid inter state trade licensing issues. The aim is to recapture ground lost after the Privy Council ruling and enable orderly marketing.
