Penny postage area limits explained for Guyra
The Progress Association urged Mr. F J Foster MHR to press the Post Master General on widening the penny postage area at Guyra. The Post Master General said Armidale’s lower rate stems from pre Commonwealth rules and the current radius rule allows one mile per inhabitant up to eight miles, limiting Guyra’s expansion due to population insufficiency.
