Disc Hiller Trial Prospects For Potato Infestation Control
Rural Gazette reports an experiment at Gayra using a Farmall H with four 17 inch discs to hill potatoes. Intermittent and late disc hilling show reduced moth and caterpillar infestation with improved tuber protection, yielding more clean tubers than traditional hoes and scufflers. Results indicate late hillings and disc-assembly can overtake early methods, though drought can affect outcomes and further tests are planned.
