A deputation from Dorriga and nearby towns met with Minister for Works Arthur Griffith discussing the Gleoreagh to Dorriga railway and potential extension to Guyra. Griffith pledged action when funds allow, but current financial constraints likely shelve the Coastal Tableland Railway connection for now.
A deputation urged extending the line west to the Great Northern line. The Minister promised speed on Glenreagh to Dorrigo and to present the proposal to Public Works. He favored connecting Guyra to Inverell, and an extension from Guyra to Texas on the Queensland border, subject to funds.
The Guyra P., A. and H. Society met at the Grandstand with Vice-President D. J. Dalrymple in the chair. Present were Cot ton Haw HK Simpson G Moore Finlay Haudubo Stevenson King Stevenson Mackenzie Hartigan Craik Sule Wright King, and others. Apologies from Everett Croft Brown Chirk Youman Mackenzie. They deferred a second sheep judge pending reply from Manuel, declined a district exhibit for Sydney Show but offered help. Stewards appointed for horse cattle sheep poultry pavilion with Dalrymple and King chiefs. Dalrymple empowered to fill pavilion steward vacancies.
Sore reports a sale of property to Ephraim Juore including 2600 sheep 150 cattle and 20 horses. Wool yields recorded at 22½ pounds for a Merino wether and 20¾ pounds for a crossbred ewe. Rainfall included 60 points Tuesday and heavy downpour Wednesday. Savings Bank of New South Wales offers four percent for open accounts through 1912. Main Roads Bill second reading defeated 2 to 2 in Legislative Assembly. Mr Griffith withdrew the bill.
