Catholic Ball at Olympic Hall Draws Wide Attendance
The Catholic Ball at Olympic Hall on a Friday night drew visitors from distant towns. About 50 couples gathered by 10 pm, rising to nearly 60 as the event progressed. The Indies committee and a gentlemen’s group organized the ball with a large marquee, a supper spread by W. Vander, and music by Cooper’s Armidale string band. Father Tobin attended early, then departed by the mail train, praising the turnout and the host committee.
