Prosecution method questioned in Armidale rabbit case
In Armidale Court of Petty Sessions George Marshall of Riverview faces a rabbit destruction charge. The defence argues for clearer notices under the Pastures Sejection Act while the P.P. Board defends its broad approach, noting cooperation with landholders and practical limits. Marshall says he has worked Riverview for 30 years and has killed hundreds of rabbits, with inspectors noting extensive warrens on adjoining lands.

Pensioners and Hospital Benefits Clarified in Assembly
Mr Davis Hughes asked the Minister for Health to explain how age pensioners paying into hospital benefit funds fit with the Commonwealths 12s a day hospital payment. Mr O Sullivan said many pensioners have contributed for years and that the Commonwealth pays 12s daily on admission. He noted pensioners entitled to free care have no incentive to contribute and suggested examining the issue further.
