A Memorial Institute deputation offered two rooms with books and fittings for 1 per week, or £3 per week as offices, with ongoing caretaker costs and loss of current library revenue. Guyra Shire Council on Tuesday moved to seek cooperation with other local bodies in ACRE to push legislation banning night shooting and spotlighting. Dr C E Wheaton cited sheep and a cow shot as reason for heavy penalties and authorities’ attention. Councillors Mulligan Dettmann Stanley Youman and others urged action citing stock losses and dangers to livestock from poison baits and misdirected shooters.
