An advertisement urges residents to inspect large stocks of high class furniture bought direct from manufacturers for cash. Builders are renovating a building, with a furniture showroom set to open in about two weeks, promising a showroom equal to any in the North.
In the Primary, Empire Day was celebrated on Monday with notable enthusiasm though not a statutory holiday. About 150 children attended with many parents present. Addresses were given by Reverend A W Coates, G A Sanders, and head teacher P M Howe. The flag was raised as part of the ceremonies.

The Public Works Committee at Glen Innes heard evidence over Thursday to Saturday on the proposed line Glen Innes Inverell. Witnesses including F G Finley outlined extensive natural land nearby and argued the route should favor Glen Innes and Guyra with large land blocks and farming potential.

The President thanked the retiring committee and wished the new one well. A vote of thanks was recorded.
The meeting praised Mr. Everett for leadership and energy. He accepted re election amid applause and pledged continued effort for the Association. New officers included J T Mulligan B H Dalrymple and R W Youman as vice presidents W P Craik as treasurer P N Stevenson as secretary and P B Stevenson as honorary secretary.
A meeting in connection with the Annual Catholic Ball will be held at the H C Church Guyra on Sunday next at 3 p m to make arrangements for the event.
