A gelding described as black with white markings is held at the pound and threatened with sale on January 1910 if not claimed. Listed as belonging to W A McLeod of Logan House, the animal is allegedly in poor condition and unfit for release.
Arthur Low, once with the late Wilberforce at Oban, travels via Guyra to Backwater and Oban with Melbourne speculators to inspect Hibbard's Hill, Lode Hill, and Oban River and to discuss installing a large dredging plant at Paddy's Gully. At the Debating Society meeting held Saturday night the question of City life versus Country life was debated with strong country and city representation. The next debate is set for Terden on June 18. Our Secretary Froude aims to arrange a debate with Bem Lomond School of Arts. The day’s topic also references skins prices and frequent gunfire.

Our readers regret to hear that Mr C G Ryan of Green Hills is seriously ill. Last week pleurisy was reported and Dr Harris of Guyra summoned, who pronounced pneumonia. On Monday the condition was serious enough to require Dr Scott of Armidale and Nurse Sutherland’s services. Hope for improvement is expressed.
