The Guyra district shows signs of pasture improvement with winter fodder crops and clovers reducing losses from winter drought. The Guyra Show Committee has launched a farm and fodder competition, anticipated to attract several entries. Judges will report on the impact of these measures and guide graziers on stocking capacities.
In Guyra and district churches announce services for the day with times for the Church of England Holy Communion Evensong and morning prayers, Presbyterian at Lomond and Llangothiin, and Methodist Sunday service led by Rev M Le fon of Tamworth, Armidale district.
At the W A Rooms last Tuesday Mr and Mrs Randolph Pearson were feted by the Guyra sub branch of the Returned Soldiers League. Mrs Pearson received a life membership certificate from the Women's Auxiliary and Mr Pearson was praised for 33 years of service as honorary secretary. The presentation praised his wartime service and long dedication to the League and Diggers, with wishes for health and happiness for the couple.

It describes cattle searches, winter cold, and makeshift gunyas for shepherds, plus wages, duties, and tensions with Aboriginal groups. George, Hayden, Cannings, Halhed, and Donald are named among the colonists and staff awaiting better labor, weather, and supply conditions.
UN forecasts world population rising sharply in 30 years with estimates between 2.976 and 3.636 billion in 1970, about 2.4 billion by 1950. Birth rates in Asia remain high while death rates offset gains. The bulletin cites food production and disaster elimination as remedies.
