Common Board backs transfer of control over reserves
Council unanimously backed transferring control of the common and recreational reserve from the Common Trustees to the Council to ensure fair access for sporting bodies. The meeting also approved a Land Board request on selling reserve zone land for residential use, stating the area is for later dwellings until the inner town plan fills. Sheep Sale At New England Agency Co Auction
The New England Agency Co held a mienithty sheep sale on April 43 with about 3000 sheep offered. Buyers from Inverell Delmora Glen Turner Tamworth Armidale and Guyra attended. there was total clearance and the market rose about 10 shillings in most lines. Prices included Foot ewes 98/7 fat crossbred 61/7 wethers 68/1 66/7 40/7 and aged wethers 21/1, ewes 14/7 to 41/7, November shorn 38/1, mixed sexes up to full mouth. Next sale set for Friday May 24.
