The Tennis Guyra Club announced officers including patron J Bilaget and president Mrs B Smith with N Youman as secretary and N Jackson reelected treasurer. Subscriptions rise for men 3 1 a year, women 2 2, juniors 1 10. visitors stay 2 per afternoon.

Promoter Mr Doug Robinson announced a boxing program at Oddrelsows Hall next Saturday headlined by an eight round bout between Col Connors, Guyra champion, and Alex Frew who has won his last nine fights. Also scheduled are four round bouts Cecil Gill vs Dick Yarnold and G Langsley vs C Hart or Dunn, three rounds Dawson vs Hicks Wells vs P Munro Kennedy vs Hicks, plus a match for Young Walls in progress. Earlier at Tamworth Police and Citizens Club stadium last Saturday night F Myers defeated RB Yarnold Guyra in weight class 10.5 to 9.12.
At the annual meeting members pledged loans to the club to cover the new courts. A motion proposed by A Piper would allow membership regardless of age if a standard of play is met, with an earlier agreed 14 year age limit. The next meeting in April will address membership age and an open Easter tournament was planned.
Hagie called for nominations for A and reserve grades with a £40 fee and season odds. Mijacks moved to call for entries by March 18 with several amendments on gate money sharing between leagues and clubs, final agreement to 50-50 or 60-40 splits, and chairmanship preserving balance, the motion carried.
Local organizers invite identified players to attend a trial game arrangement set for next Sunday. Barc era details appear unclear due to incomplete OCR, but participation is requested to assess abilities and match readiness.
