Council Advances Electric Lighting Scheme for Guyra
At yesterday's council meeting Al Green moved to consider installing an electric lighting plant for the town. The plan would cost about £7000 with annual working expenses near £1025 and revenue around £1125, funded by a special loan rate and 2d in the £ extra. The proposal includes street lighting from 45 to 50 lamps and household supply at 10d per unit, with rates not exceeding 7d in the £. A plebiscite could be held if 25 per cent of ratepayers petition.
