Potato Scab Resistance Studied at New England Experiment Farm
The Biological Branch of the Department of Agriculture reports seed disinfection helps, but no practical soil-borne loss prevention exists. They test scab resistant varieties at Glen Innes and Spring Hill, noting promising lines like Ackersegen Emilia Aleca Concita and 2669 show resistance under favorable conditions. Ontario may also aid resistance efforts though seed is sparse for farmers.
